In the world of celebrities, the typical perception is that the current girlfriend cannot be friends (initially, at least) with the ex. Is this the case for Scott Disick’s ladylove Sofia Richie and ex-partner Kourtney Kardashian?
It appears that the relationship between Disick and Richie is really getting serious. It might not be easy to navigate with the reality show star having three kids with his ex, but a source told PEOPLE that the 20-year-old model is willing to deal with it and give it her best shot. Richie is reportedly in love with Disick for real, which is why she is determined to handle her boyfriend’s co-parenting relationship with Kardashian “without causing drama.”
Disick and Kardashian officially broke up in 2015 after being together for almost a decade. But the fact that they have three kids means they will still have to spend a lot of time together. Richie’s boyfriend is still a main cast of the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” show where the other family members still refer to him as their “brother.”
Richie understands that Disick’s world as a father will “always” put her in a place where she could feel like some sort of an “outsider.” But she genuinely loves Disick and is also happy to be around his kids. This is likely her motivation to reportedly handle this arrangement in “a mature way.”
If Richie and Disick’s relationship is getting really serious, this means she will be around his kids many times in the future. Will this lead to her eventually being friends with Kardashian? That is hard to tell. However, the PEOPLE’s source said Richie has somehow built a good rapport with Kardashian when it comes to her kids.
On the other hand, Richie also has to be prepared for Disick to appear in Kardashian’s Instagram page from time to time. Like the recent photo, she uploaded where Kardashian and Disick are in bed with their daughter, Penelope, which she captioned “Coparenting.” The photo means Disick and Kardashian are not back together, thus, the “coparenting” caption. But it still reportedly struck a chord on Richie and made her feel “uncomfortable.”
