It’s usually quite easy to tell if the folks behind a series want it to continue for another season in that it will end on a cliffhanger and with plot details left untied. This is why the prospect of “Sneaky Peter” Season 4 is a bit tricky to try and untangle since the chances of the show having finally concluded are high. Season 3 basically ended on a good note and with a new showrunner at the helm, there are no guarantees that it will continue.
With the third season of the show having just come out, it’s not that big of a deal if there is no news about renewal yet. There is still a healthy enough window for Amazon to say something about “Sneaky Pete” Season 4 over the coming weeks, though, avid fans are likely to feel anxious during that time. Even if it is renewed, viewers are not likely to see it return until the middle of 2020, Decider notes.
So, what are the reasons for there to be a “Sneaky Pete” Season 4 and what could be the driving force behind this not being the case? To start with, there’s the matter of fans absolutely loving the series and it being quite popular among viewers. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly that big of a financial asset to Amazon and the company is known for being a stickler for those kinds of details.
Then there’s the matter of season 3 ending on a satisfying note. More than anything else, it could be this that will be the deciding factor behind there being no “Sneaky Pete” Season 4. If a show’s curtain-closing is done as well as it was in this series’ latest season, there’s less of a reason to bring it back. It will simply run the risk of a story told well, especially if the goal only to milk it for all it is worth.
