The number of golf course users in South Korea reached 50.56 million last year, according to a survey conducted by the Korea Golf Course Business Association of 505 golf courses with over six holes throughout the country.
The total consists of 16.99 million users for 157 membership golf courses and 33.57 million for 348 public golf courses.
The number represents an 8.2 percent increase from 2020.
The average number of users per hole was 5,092 last year, surging 6.6 percent from 4,776 in 2020.
Gyeongsang Province had the most number of users per hole at 6,131, while Jeju ranked at the bottom of the list with 3,786.
