“Rick and Morty” season 4 episode 6 is anticipated, especially because the series has been on a break for weeks now. This will be the first episode for this year and the first for the second half as well.

Prior to the midseason break, fans saw the last episode on Dec. 15, so it means the series is off-air for nearly four weeks already. So, when is “Rick and Morty” season 4 episode 6 is coming, and why is it taking Adult Swim so long to release the new episodes?

Announcement from Adult Swim

There is no announcement coming from the show’s creators or Adult Swim. The last update that fans got from them was the detail saying that “‘Rick and Morty’ season 4 will return in 2020.” this was all that they wrote on Twitter on Dec. 17. And as if to assure the fans, they added the caption, “You can trust us.”

However, it seems that the viewers are getting annoyed already because they previously promised that there would be no more long waiting time, and yet it seems to be happening again. Series creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland stated that the long waiting time is over because after they got the order of 70 episodes in advance, they can continuously write the stories so the release would be faster too.

“I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons three and four will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous,” Harmon and Roiland told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again.”

Fans are upset

Express reported that despite the promise, fans are upset because the series creators said there would be 10 episodes for RM4, but after releasing the first five chapters, the second half is still not around, and it has been weeks already. Moreover, most shows have already returned after the holidays, but there is no news yet about “Rick and Morty” season 4, episode 6.

Now, it was suggested that perhaps they are waiting for Netflix to stream all the first five episodes first before releasing the second batch. As everyone already knows, Netflix streams the show after it already aired on TV.

Leaked release date?

Meanwhile, a voice actress for “Rick and Morty” season 4, episode 6, could have dropped some hints with regards to when the series is returning. Spencer Grammer, who voices Summer Smith, said in her interview with Collider that they are done with filming, but there are parts that needed to be refilmed so fans may need to wait longer.

"I just recorded 4.10 (final episode) when I was in LA a few weeks ago but those change a lot,” she said. “I'll be going back to do pick-ups probably for some of them and I recorded all of them so far."

Most likely, “Rick and Morty” season 4 episode 6 will be back in February.
