“Rick and Morty” Season 4 will be dropping on November 2019 as has been confirmed by the iconic duo themselves. While a specific date hasn’t been given yet, fans are simply happy that the series is finally returning as it’s been two years since the third installment ended.
It’s still unclear how many episodes “Rick and Morty” Season 4 will have. The safest bet at the moment is 10, although show co-creator Dan Harmon said that they’re looking to push that number to 14. However, Harmon did warn that fans shouldn’t raise their expectations since the third entry was supposed to have 14 but ultimately ended with 10 instead.
Regarding the future of the series, it’s pretty much secured that fans will be getting plenty of stories involving the dimension-jumping pair as it’s been announced that Adult Swim ordered 70 more episodes from the show’s creators. If “Rick and Morty” Season 4 and the subsequent entries follow the same pattern of the previous installments, it could mean that we’ll be getting seven more entries in the years to come.
The question is: will the production of the series improve? There’s been a two-year gap between the three entries so far with “Rick and Morty” Season 4 also having the same hiatus length. Fortunately, Roiland confirmed that they'd be looking to improve production time for the series’ creation, an assurance that got fans sighing with relief.
“I think we'll be able to move a little quicker. We're going to just keep the machine going and schedule staggering vacations for people, so we don't burn out,” Roiland told Gamespot. As for the plot of “Rick and Morty” Season 4, nothing has been confirmed on this front either.
However, rumors are speculating that Evil Morty might make his way back into the series as has been hinted by storyboard artist Douglas Einar Olsen. If so, “Rick and Morty” Season 4 could see some pretty dark plots again as the antagonist has been written as a manipulative and highly intelligent tyrant.
