‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 4 is set to feature the return of Tom Hardy’s Alfie Solomons as revealed by show creator Steven Knight. Knight also confirmed that the series will begin filming the upcoming season in March 2017.
Knight expressed his excitement at his upcoming BBC and Netflix shows, including the fourth season of the television crime drama starring Cillian Murphy in the lead role during a recent interview with Deadline.
When asked for an update on ‘Peaky Blinders’ season 4, he replied, “I’m very, very excited because I’m just completing Episode 6 of Series 4, which again I think is the best yet. And I’m loving it and it’s not like work, it’s not like a labor, I love doing it, and the boys are coming back and they’re loving the scripts, and we start shooting in March.”
Knight also confirmed that Tom Hardy will be returning to play Alfie Solomons, a violent and unpredictable yet highly intelligent Jewish gang leader who uses outbursts to manipulate and intimidate everyone around him. Hardy’s character was first introduced in season 2’s episode 2.
Season 3’s final episode followed Tommy (Cillian Murphy) as he attempted to outsmart the Russians in a jewelry heist. However, he finds his family in handcuffs when he returned home.
According to The Week, it was previously speculated that the incoming season may feature Tommy as he struggles to become a changed man. Murphy’s recent comments suggested otherwise since the 40-year old Irish actor insisted, "Because of what happened to him in the First World War it's kind of - it's never gonna stop… He'll always be this man searching for something and I think that even if he achieves all this material wealth and he achieves some sort of position of power, I don't see him retiring with a pipe and slippers, that's for sure."
‘Peaky Blinders’ season 4 is expected to begin filming sometime in March 2017. This may mean a possible release date sometime between November 2017 and spring of 2018.
