The good news that fans have been waiting for arrived last week. Netflix finally announced the renewal of “Ozark” season 4, but it was also revealed that the show is coming to an end.
The fourth season of the crime drama series will be the last, so it is expected to show the final fate of the Byrde family, who got deeply involved in illegal business. At this point, their involvement in the money laundering scheme has come to a dangerous level already, so it is interesting to see how their story will conclude.
The renewal announcement
When “Ozark” season 4 was renewed, Chris Mundy, the drama’s showrunner, said that they are happy that Netflix gave them more time so they can finish the story properly.
“We’re so happy Netflix recognized the importance of giving ‘Ozark’ more time to end the Byrdes’ saga right,” Mundy told Variety. “It’s been such a great adventure for all of us - both on and off-screen, so we’re thrilled to get the chance to bring it home in the most fulfilling way possible.”
Dark plot prediction
Now, as the Byrde family will already be saying goodbye in “Ozark” season 4, their fate is set to be sealed in this finale. With that said, the main question is - What will happen to Marty, Wendy, and their children after they chose to take the criminal path further?
As per Express, one of the plot predictions states that the family will suffer from a bloody ending. The Byrde family is now heavily involved in the violent world, so they are likely to meet their grim fate in “Ozark” season 4.
It was suggested that Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) will pay a heavy price for their crimes that include the latter’s decision to execute her own brother Ben Davis played by Tom Pelphrey.
The outlet shared that they may be massacred in the finale on “Ozark” season 4, and this can be their “karma” for all the bad things they did. The possible culprit for their demise includes the drug cartel syndicates and their enemies in the business.
Release date
Filming for “Ozark” season 4 has not started yet, but this may happen as soon as it is safe to return to work. If the production begins this year, the final season could be released in 2021.
