The launch of the OnePlus Band did not stay too long in the rumor mill as the company has already confirmed the smart device is in the pipeline. Over the last few days, OnePlus has also releasing promo images hinting at the features to be expected on the fitness band. Meanwhile, reliable leakers have already revealed supposed renders showing the band’s likely design.
OnePlus Band: What are the confirmed features
Some of the first OnePlus Band features teased on Twitter and Instagram are heart rate and sleep monitoring. At this point, there is no teaser yet that specifically points to an oxygen saturation level tracking. However, an earlier leak suggested it would be one of the highlights of the device.
While the specifics have yet to be revealed, the company hints that the device would be capable of measuring the user’s sleep quality. This likely means the OnePlus Band will be able to measure the different stages of sleep, which include the state of being awake, in light sleep, in deep sleep, and rapid eye movement (REM).
A couple of promo images also suggest OnePlus Band will be dust and water-resistant. It is also confirmed that the fitness band will be released in multiple color options. OnePlus has not revealed the variants yet, but reliable leaker stufflistings has shared an image render of the product hinting at three variants -- black, navy blue, and a two-tone gray and orange model.
OnePlus Band release date: When to expect smart fitness device’s launch
It should be noted that all these official teasers were exclusively released through the social media pages of OnePlus India. This practically confirms another earlier leaked information that the OnePlus Band would be initially exclusive to the region. A pre-launch page for the device has also been added to the OnePlus India website. Tech fans can use a “notify me” button there to receive news once the product is launched. Overall, this is a good clue that the fitness band could be launching very soon.
If and when the OnePlus Band gets a launch schedule in other regions, tech fans can expect it to be a budget-friendly product. Tipster Ishan Agarwal reported that it could cost around ₹2,499 upon launch, which is only about $34.
