Nesta, an innovation agency based in the UK, is seeking senior manager to lead the delivery of a major fintech “multi-million pound” challenge prize that aims to incentivise fintech companies to design sophisticated, data-driven comparison tools to support small businesses in making informed choices about financial products and services.
The challenge prize is closely allied to a regulatory agenda in order to enhance transparency and competition in the business banking market.
“When launched, the prize will build upon a rapidly evolving technological landscape in banking (i.e. the introduction of an Open Data and Banking APIs), as well as regulatory backing for comparison tools aimed at SMEs”, the announcement reads. “This programme sits at the intersection of several different agendas, and its success will be predicated on active engagement with SME business bodies, FinTech companies, banks, regulators and policymakers”.
The lead will manage a small team working to launch and execute the initiative, and will oversee multiple project delivery partners and work streams in order to deliver a programme spanning approximately two years. Nesta says that the prize lead will need to be capable of sustaining strong working relationships with senior representatives from small business and FinTech groups, government, and major UK banks and industry regulators.
Interested candidates are required to send their applications by Wednesday, 14 September. Interviews will be held on Monday 19th September, with a possible 2nd stage on Friday 23rd Sept.
