'NCIS' season 18 to showcase the sensitive side of Gibbs

A more sensitive and emotionally open leader, is what NCIS will be turning Leroy Jethro Gibbs into in season 18 of this CBS' police drama.

We have heard of how having a higher emotional quotient is better than having a higher intelligence quotient and perhaps the NCIS bosses think the same as there were moments in the previous season that have been leading up to Gibbs becoming an emotionally transparent leader of NCIS.

This was revealed by the show's executive producers Frank Cardea and Gina Monreal in a talk with TV Guide back in April.

Monreal said that making Gibbs more sensitive or emotional do not necessarily make him weak, it is just that the character is evolving.

Cardea added that an emotionally transparent Gibbs will mean that there will be some risks that he would be taking which he would not have done before.

Even Mark Harmon, who plays Leroy Jethro Gibbs, agreed to having his character become emotionally open on season 18, according to Cartermatt.

This would be exciting to see considering that many things have happened this year and we are curious on how the coronavirus (CoVid-19) pandemic and the George Floyd death will impact the show.

However, we may have to wait until late September or maybe even October to start seeing season 8.

All work had been put on hold in the film and television industry due to the CoVid-19 pandemic.

However, with California having already allowed films and tv shows to resume production last June 12, perhaps it won't be long that the cameras start rolling for NCIS.

And, another reason to look forward to season 18 is that NCIS will be airing its 400th episode, something that the cast and crew and the rest of those involved in the show have been looking forward to.
