Netflix's The Witcher season 2 may soon resume production if rumors of an August playdate is to be believed.
However, before filming was stopped in March after the World Health Organization (WHO) elevated the coronavirus to a pandemic, it has been reported though that the target release date is sometime in 2021 yet as they did not want to hurry production.
Although shooting has not been restarted yet, fans would be happy to know that things are moving along as what show creator and producer Lauren Hissrich has told The Wrap, according to Catermatt.com.
In a prelude to actors returning to the set and resuming shooting, Hissrich said there have been a lot of production meetings wherein they discussed how to keep everyone safe while there is still the pandemic.
Not only is the cast and crew’s health safety being discussed but also taken into consideration is making them comfortable.
Personal safety and comfort are their topmost concerns when they eventually resume filming season 2, said Hissrich.
According to Hissrich, they will also be taking into consideration recommendations from the government, Netflix and the film commissions, as well.
And, all these changes are sure to impact on the story but this is the least of Hissrich's concerns as she will be on hand to make the changes should it be necessary.
However, Hissrich said that they will never know the full scope of their limitation unless some shows should restart. From there, they can gauge what’s possible and what’s not.
It has already been confirmed that The Witcher season 2 will see the return of Geralt portrayed by Henry Cavill. He will be joined by Freya Allan's Ciri and Anya Chalotra's Yennefer. Actually, most of the casts will be back for season 2 as well as a lot of new characters.
