Not only that, but fans of the series can also do this before the title is even released.
“NBA 2K19” presents fans with a rather interesting proposition. The story mode will place the players in China, where they will begin their journey towards NBA greatness, Polygon reports. If anyone is confused as to why this is the case, it’s honestly anyone’s guess. However, it would not be too hard to deduce the publisher’s intent behind this move.
By starting players in Asia’s biggest gaming market, “NBA 2K19” could tap into an even bigger audience in this community than usual. Giving them the opportunity to start from humble beginnings and develop their skills so that they can become NBA players is a dream for a lot of people.
Players will work their way to the G-League in “NBA 2K19,” before they can make it to the NBA. From there, they need to become good enough so that they won’t be benchwarmers.
As Engadget points out, players can also play the story mode of “NBA 2K19” before the game has even been released. This is quite the interesting development and one that PS4 and Xbox One owners can take advantage of right now.
“NBA 2K19” is set for release on Sept. 11, however, so fans do not have to wait that long to start shooting hoops with the latest installment to the franchise. The progress made in the early story mode access will also be carried over to the main game once it has been purchased.
