Michael Schumacher is still receiving treatment for more than five years since his skiing accident in 2013. This means that the racing champ has not recovered yet from his severe injuries, but his family still hopes that he will be back to normal at one point.
According to The Sun, Schumacher still cannot talk or walk, and in fact, when he celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this year, he was said to have been strapped to his wheelchair to welcome his guests and family. Reportedly, his treatment cost around £80,000 a week and a recording of his Ferrari F1 cars are also being played in the background because they believe it will help with the F1 legend’s recovery.
Schumacher’s family also showed their continuous support and anticipation for his recuperation when they said in a statement via social media, “You can be sure that he is in the very best of hands and that we are doing everything humanly possible to help him.”
Now, as the family continues to keep the exact condition of Michael Schumacher’s health a secret, rumors start to go around with some claiming that the racer is already walking and in physical rehabilitation while others say he is still in a coma. His whereabouts have also been a favorite subject since the family won’t share any details.
What is Schumacher’s real state of health? Currently, he said to be bedridden, and his medical aids need to turn him from time to time to prevent bedsores. It was added that they wash and massage him every day so that his muscles and joints will not become stiff from the lack of movements.
As for his face, Georg Ganswein, the Schumacher’s family’s spiritual adviser said, “His face, as we all know, is the typical face of Michael Schumacher, only that it has become a little puffier.”
Finally, as per Express, though there were reports that Michael Schumacher has been moved to a medical facility in the U.S., he is believed still being cared for in his home in Switzerland. It was also speculated that Schumi is already in Majorca, Spain but this was refuted by the champ’s family.
