Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ: META) is set to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities with the upcoming release of Llama 4, introducing advanced voice features in the coming weeks, according to the Financial Times. This move signals Meta’s belief that the future of AI lies in conversational interactions rather than text-based models.
The company is also considering premium subscriptions for Meta AI, its AI assistant, targeting agentic applications. This aligns with Meta’s broader strategy to expand AI-driven services and maintain a competitive edge in the evolving market.
Meta has significantly ramped up AI investments, unveiling plans for an AI coding agent capable of performing at a mid-level engineer's standard. CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that the company expects to spend up to $65 billion in 2025, primarily on AI infrastructure, including data centers.
Despite its aggressive expansion, Meta faces stiff competition from U.S. tech giants and emerging Chinese AI contenders. As AI adoption accelerates globally, Meta’s focus on voice-enabled AI and potential monetization strategies reflects its ambition to lead in the next era of AI innovation.
