Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Ditching 'Poor Me' Narrative; 'Suits' Alum Faces Court Showdown with Half-Sister

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly plans to rebrand to earn enough money.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have spent much of this year out of the spotlight, leading fans to speculate about what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could plan next.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Are Reportedly Rebranding to Earn Money

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are thought to be rebranding themselves after realizing that the "poor me" narrative will not bring them enough money. Writing in The Sun, Jane Moore outlined the several variations of the Sussexes that have existed as they strive to find a method to sustain themselves financially after leaving the Royal Family.

She described how Meghan Markle and Prince Harry first portrayed themselves as "persecuted lovers who fled the wicked royal kingdom in search of a happier life." This was before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved on to "misunderstood Harry whose angelic wife was his rock after his dreadful family ostracized him." They have recently focused on their charity endeavors and attempting to save the world.

Jane pointed out that the July issue of Rolling Stone included the headline “Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are in their flop era,” implying that their efforts to establish themselves in the United States are not going as smoothly as they had anticipated.

According to Stacy Jones, founder of Hollywood Branded, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are "circled around 'poor Meghan and Harry,' and that's not a platform you can build a brand on." The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently been chastised for failing to "practice what they preach" by traveling privately from Santa Barbara to Las Vegas for a Katy Perry concert, just weeks after flying secretly to an exclusive Caribbean island for a romantic mini-break.

“Harry and Meghan have "decided to drop the constant virtue signaling and embrace what we always suspected Meghan craved all along — an A-list celebrity lifestyle funded by lucrative endorsements and favors from billionaires who want to be seen with someone famous,” Jane Moore stated.

Relations with the rest of the Firm remain strained, as it was reported over the weekend that Prince Harry had declined King Charles' invitation to attend his 75th birthday celebration on November 14. A representative for the Sussexes, on the other hand, claimed there had been "no contact" between the two camps regarding Harry's visit to the UK for the celebrations.

Meghan Markle Faces Court Showdown with Sister Samantha Markle

Meanwhile, Meghan Markle's estranged half-sister appeared in a Florida court on Wednesday, seeking a trial against the Duchess of Sussex, per Express UK. Samantha Markle alleges Meghan defamed her during an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 and a Netflix docuseries aired by her and her husband Prince Harry in 2022.

Samantha accuses Meghan of indicating she is an "imposter" and a "charlatan" in her Netflix and with the TV megastar interviews. The 58-year-old is suing Prince Harry’s wife for $75,000 in damages, claiming that the Duchess' statements caused her to lose book sales for “The Diary of Princess Pushy's Sister,” as well as social and professional damage.

Samantha's lawyer, Peter Ticktin, claims that his client is frightened to leave her house because of the alleged harassment she suffered following Meghan's interviews. Samantha has multiple sclerosis and is confined to a wheelchair.

Meghan's lawyer, Michel Kump, said Samantha's charges were unfounded, claiming that none of Meghan's words were defamatory. "This has always been a lawsuit in search of a viable claim. The case has failed because it runs head first up against defamation law and the First Amendment,” he stated.

For starters, the case was filed in March 2022, but it was dismissed a year later because a judge determined that Meghan was expressing "an opinion about her childhood and her relationship with her half-sibling." Samantha is now attempting to take the case to trial in Florida.

Judge Charlene Honeywell is scheduled to rule on whether the case can proceed to trial in the coming weeks. Meghan Markle’s half-sister stated that she is "optimistic" that the case will go to trial.
