Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are speculated to move to Africa after the former gives birth to their new child. According to Times (via News), the palace officials want to send the royal couple in Africa as their popularity is eclipsing Prince William’s global influence.
As the rumors would have it, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s popularity is largely attributed to their likable personality and how the masses can relate to them more. Apparently, this doesn’t sit well with palace officials so they’re planning to send the couple to Africa in an attempt to take them out of the spotlight.
What’s more, having Meghan Markle and Prince Harry do charity work in the region might provide more positive narratives for the royal household as a whole. Markle, after all, is a biracial individual as her mother is black and her father is white – a fact that is rare among the monarchs.
So far, Kensington Palace has not confirmed nor deny this alleged plan, only saying that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s future role is still a point of contention. But if this rumor proves true, how long will the royal couple stay in Africa? Apparently, it’s more of a trip rather than outright stay in the territory according to BAZAAR.
“These discussions, which the couple are driving, are very much embryonic,” a source close to the matter supposedly told the publication. “Both the duke and duchess are keen to balance projects in Britain and overseas, particularly countries in Africa. There are many exciting possibilities … but moving away for years? That’s not an idea they are throwing around. We’re talking a few months away or a series of trips.” Before all this takes place, however, the child of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will still need to be delivered.
The Duchess of Sussex is expecting to go on labor any day now, which was why she was absent during Queen Elizabeth’s ceremony celebrating her 93rd birthday. Having said all of this, it’s best to remain skeptical with the claims being thrown around, especially since the palace itself hasn’t announced anything yet. For now, the world’s attention is focusing on the arrival of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s first born. After that, who knows.
