Xiaomi phone users are expected to receive the big MIUI 13 update soon, and some of the updates and feature it contains may have been leaked. Android skin is rumored to deliver a redesigned Control Center, along with new window modes for mobile gamers.

MIUI 13 rumored updates and features

A layout of the supposedly revamped Control Center in MIUI 13 has appeared in a recent leak from Weibo. The updated Control Center could have two columns divided into four sections. The design shows four types of information that may be displayed in the top-left corner, including the daily mobile data counter, the remaining call credit balance, steps tracker, and the phone usage time.

On the top-right side are three widgets for mobile data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth stacked up vertically displaying the names of connection sources. Below are two sliders for the media volume and phone brightness. And the bottom-left side is reserved for round icons for other controls that are likely customizable. However, the leak also suggests there are two other possible layouts for the revamped Control Center in MIUI 13, suggesting the update could offer more customization options.

Another recent leak from Weibo indicates that MIUI 13 will add new viewing options, including a small window for games. While details are still scarce on this feature, the update could allow mobile gamers to continue playing through a floating window on top of other apps. The same source says Xiaomi is working on adding a layered rendering system animation.

The MIUI 13 is also expected to improve compatible devices with smaller memory through a rumored “memory fusion technology.” It is speculated to function similarly to virtual RAM, allowing devices with smaller RAM to perform better by using some of the phone’s ROM capacity.

MIUI 13 release date, compatible devices

PiunikaWeb reports that up to 46 devices spread across the Mi, Redmi, and Poco brands could support the MIUI 13 update. The list of rumored compatible devices includes the Mi 10T series, Mi 10 series, Mi Note 10 series, Mi CC9 Pro, Mi 9 series, Redmi K30 lineup, Redmi K20 Pro/Pro Premium, Mi 10X, Redmi 9 models, Redmi Note 9 series, Redmi Note 8 phones, Poco X3, Poco M2/M2 Pro, Poco F2 Pro, and Poco X2.

Xiaomi fans should still take this with a grain of salt as the official list of MIUI 13-supported devices could be longer. Some newer models were not mentioned in the report, including the Mi 11 series that were released earlier this year. Xiaomi has yet to announce a release date for the MIUI 13. However, the company is also rumored to launch a premium device in August that is speculated to arrive with the next big update.
