The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is one of the upcoming smartphones expected to launch in the fall. A new report has claimed that the device would offer an under-display camera with improved quality and a battery that supports 120W and 80W wireless charging.
Chinese publication MyDrivers (translated via Google Translate) reported recently that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is launching with an under-display camera that possesses improved capabilities. There were no technical and specific details mentioned about the front-facing sensor, but the article has made comparisons with the under-screen camera ZTE offered on Axon 20 5G last year.
The same report notes that Xiaomi Mi Mix 4’s under-screen camera will use a “latest generation” tech and is more “complete” compared to the solution ZTE offers on its device. Xiaomi reportedly plans to use “exclusive camera optimization algorithms” that would allow its upcoming device to capture images on par with conventional front-facing sensors.
It also appears that battery specs are some of the highlights of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 4. The report took note of an earlier report from well-known Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, who previously tipped that a Xiaomi-made battery with 2,430mAh dual-cell solution has the 3C certification earlier this year.
Now, Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is expected to be the first device to benefit from the new battery solution. The device reportedly uses the BM58 battery rated with 5,000mAh capacity that will support a hefty 120W wired and 80W wireless fast charging.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is expected to ship with the latest version of MIUI 13, which is likely based on Android 11 depending on when the device will be exactly released. The report also mentioned that the smartphone may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Pro. The 5nm chipset was reportedly being tested in China around April. It is anticipated to have a built-in X60 5G modem and Adreno 660 GPU.
Aside from saying that the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will be released this year, the report does not say anything specific about its launch timeline. But it is worth noting that Xiaomi typically announces the latest model of its full-screen smartphone line around September or October.
