One Direction singer Liam Payne has finally opened up about his relationship with Cheryl. The two had started dating following her separation with then-husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, but have been mum about their romance. Fans became more excited about the two speaking up their relationship when Cheryl debuted at a Prince’s Trust event with a very prominent baby bump, the Telegraph said.
E! said Cheryl and Payne’s relationship was a little bit controversial. Aside from the 10-year age gap, the two appeared on the same show, which is “The X Factor.” Buzzfeed said Payne was 14 at that time when he first appeared on the show, and Cheryl was 24 then. Cheryl was also a judge then to Payne and his future bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
Talking to U.K.'s Rollacoaster magazine, Payne gushed about his partner, “This is the thing: In a non-cliché way, it's weird waking up every day and literally living out your dream...Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the world, and she's absolutely amazing. She's been my dream girl since I was younger. She's so ace."
He also commented about their “dynamic,” and said, “She is a wonderful, wonderful person and it’s amazing to have someone who can relate to so many things – someone who’s taken greater steps than me. Her solo career was amazing. She’s been in the industry for 14 years now. She fully supports me. I’m still learning, I’m only 23.”
He concluded the interview by teasing the private couple’s excitement over the baby, too. He exclaimed, “We’re super happy. It’s a very personal, precious time for us.”
