‘Dunkirk’ actor Harry Styles was photographed celebrating the end of filming with some crew members. The former One Directioner posed for the camera and was all smiles after working on the set of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming war drama film for months.
According to Hollywood Life, Style posed with some cast members for some behind-the-scenes photographs as they finally ended filming for Nolan’s upcoming war drama film inspired by the events of the real life evacuation of Dunkirk. The final day of shooting was reportedly last September 1.
Costume designer Krista Guggia posted a photograph of herself with Styles and another crew member on Instagram. The image was captioned, "And that's a wrap on Dunkirk! It's been an absolute pleasure to work with this true class act.” Guggia added, “7 long, crazy months and I can’t wait to see the final product!”
The upcoming film features Styles as in his very first acting debut. The 22-year old English singer and songwriter is best known as a member of the popular award-winning boy band One Direction. The film stars Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, James D’Arcy, and Jack Lowden among others.
Murphy expressed his praise for Styles’ performance in the film during a previous interview. According to The Daily Mail, Murphy said, “Harry Styles is great… I had very few scenes with Harry but we got to hang out and I’ve got to say he’s a great, great kid, and really, really funny… Above all, Chris Nolan knows talent and would have cast Harry for a reason.”
He continued, “There’s a long history of musicians moving over into acting and I come from that world myself, so I’m sure he’ll be terrific in the role. I trust Chris implicitly in that.”
The upcoming film tells the story of the dramatic evacuation of Allied soldiers from Belgium, Canada, Britain and France from the beaches and harbor of Dunkirk as they are surrounded by German troops. It was code-named “Operation Dynamo” and took place between May 26 and June 4, 1940 under the supervision of Vice-Admiral Bertram during World War II.
‘Dunkirk’ is an upcoming action and drama film directed, written and co-produced by Christopher Nolan of ‘The Dark Knight’ fame. It is produced by Warner Bros., Syncopy, and RatPac-Dune Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros.
The film is scheduled to premiere in U.S. theaters on July 21, 2017.
