Lenovo Group Ltd. has launched two cutting-edge servers optimized for large-scale language model training, tapping into China's burgeoning AI market powered by advances like ChatGPT.
Lenovo's decision to introduce these servers is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its position in AI and enhance its competitiveness in the face of intensified competition. Liu Jun, the executive vice-president of Lenovo Group and president of Lenovo China, emphasized the company's commitment to fully embracing AI and accelerating the integration of inclusive computing power to facilitate intelligent transformation for Chinese enterprises.
During his speech at the 2023 China Computational Conference in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Liu expressed his confidence in China's rapidly developing independent AI ecosystem. He outlined three key features of this ecosystem, including superintelligence in terminals, hybrid architecture computing, and the widespread application of AI across various industries.
Chen Zhenkuan, the vice-president of Lenovo Group and general manager of the server business unit of the infrastructure business group of Lenovo China, highlighted the strategic characteristics of the newly launched Lenovo AI servers - the integration of AI capabilities and environmentally-friendly practices.
These servers are designed to cater to a wide range of applications, offering a comprehensive infrastructure tailored for AI workloads. These servers prioritize AI capabilities and green empowerment, providing comprehensive infrastructure for AI-driven applications.
Notably, the delivery time for AI servers has become a major industry concern, with limited supplies. Chen acknowledged that the orders for Lenovo's servers have been exceptionally high, leading to potential delays in scheduling until next year for some customers.
The introduction of Lenovo's advanced AI servers demonstrates the company's commitment to advancing AI technologies in a rapidly evolving landscape.
