‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2’s episode 8, entitled “The Chicago Way,” will feature the return of Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold as the team travels to 1927 Chicago. The Legion of Doom will finally assemble and team up with Al Capone to carry out a deadly scheme.
The synopsis for “The Chicago Way” posted on Comicbook.com reads, “When a new Time Aberration is discovered by the Legends, they find themselves headed to 1927 Chicago.
The Legends quickly realize that they have been set up by Eobard Thawne (guest star Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) and the newest member of the Legion of Doom, Malcolm Merlyn (guest start John Barrowman).
While everyone is trying to help fix what they think is the mission, Jax (Franz Drameh) encourages a reluctant Stein (Victor Garber) to share his secret with the other Legends. Stein is taken captive and Sara (Caity Lotz) must make the tough choice of either stopping the Legion of Doom or saving Stein. Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) gets an unexpected visitor and is not sure how to handle it.”
The midseason finale will find the Legion of Doom aligning themselves with the legendary mobster Al Capone to carry out a deadly plan. Meanwhile, the Legends will be shocked to learn that a member they thought to be dead would return and betray them.
It remains unclear how Wentworth Miller’s Leonard Snart a.k.a. Captain Cold was resurrected from the dead. According to Comicbook Movie, this Captain Cold may be a past version that never became a part of the Legends considering the Reverse-Flash's ability to travel through time.
Captain Cold was last seen sacrificing himself to save the Legends as they attempted to destroy the Oculus, a device that helped Vandal Savage’s rise to power. The team tried to destroy the Oculus but there is a fail safe that must be manually held in place in order for a detonation to occur. Snart was the one who stayed behind and was killed in the explosion.
‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2’s episode 8, entitled “The Chicago Way,” is scheduled to air on The CW on December 8, 2016. It was directed by Ralph Hemecker and written by Sarah Nicole Jones and Ray Utarnachitt.
