Lee Min Ho has a great career, and this was exhibited not just in the awards that he won but in kinds of movies and dramas he starred in. They are all hits, and he was paired with the best A-list actresses out there, and this is enough to prove that he himself is a superstar.
The 32-year-old Korean actor is not just popular in his homeland, but he is well-known overseas too. In fact, he has strong fanbases in countries like the Philippines, Japan, Indonesia, and more. He definitely achieved success, but there was a rumor that at one point in his career, he wanted to quit and leave the entertainment industry.
Did the actor really planned to give up acting and singing?
Aside from acting, Lee Min Ho has a career in singing too, and he already released some tracks in the past. With his workflow and achievements, was there really a time when he wanted to give it all up? According to Soompi via Amino Apps, the actor announced his retirement in April, and that was a few weeks prior to the completion of his mandatory military service.
It was claimed that Min Ho’s agency at that time, MYM Entertainment, revealed that the actor declined to renew his contract with them. It was added that he told his manager that wants to focus on starting a new life outside of being a celebrity.
The agency also released a statement, and it apologized to the fans for the news of Lee Min Ho’s retirement. In any case, this was not the first time that he was rumored to be leaving the entertainment world as in 2017, it was reported that he may quit after releasing his album titled “Always.” The reason given was he was considering marrying Bae Suzy, who was his girlfriend at that time.
The truth about Min Ho’s retirement
The 2017 report about his plans to quit turned out to be false because his “leaving the biz” was misunderstood. He wasn’t planning to marry Suzy, and he needs to quit, but only temporarily for he was enlisting in the army. He’s gone for almost two years, but he returned after his service.
As for the recent rumor, the write-up is unfounded, and the truth is, Lee Min Ho even signed a contract for his comeback drama, just a week after being discharged from the army. There is no truth to the rumor that he left MYM Entertainment since his sister is one of the company’s CEOs. As mentioned, the actor is set to make his comeback through “The King: The Eternal Monarch” drama that was written by award-winning writer Kim Eun Sook.
