Japanese ramen chain Tenkaippin is collaborating with French sports equipment maker Le Coq Sportif to release ramen-themed sneakers to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The collaboration sneaker, model LCS R800 Z1 TI, features Tenkaippin's logo, with laces and a color scheme inspired by the noodles, green onions, and soup found in the chain's classic ramen.
The fusion of food and fashion also drew a connection between Le Coq Sportif's rooster trademark logo and Tenkaippin's "kotteri" chicken ramen broth.
Tenkaippin, one of Japan's most popular ramen chains, has a signature rich and thick kotteri soup made from chicken stock and vegetables that has become emblematic of "Kyoto-style ramen."
The collaboration shoes may be ordered online beginning Nov 10.
