Lay's is reintroducing its iconic "All Dressed" flavor to the U.S. with a twist - Kettle Cooked Ruffles. The flavor, a beloved choice in Canada, is returning as part of the "Flavor Swap" campaign. Initially launched in the U.S. in 2015 and withdrawn in 2021, the unique blend of barbecue, sour cream and onion, ketchup, vinegar, and salt is back.
On Tuesday, Aug. 8, Lay's said its All Dressed flavor, already popular in Great White North, is set to arrive in the country through the relaunch of its "Flavor Swap" campaign. The Lay's Kettle Cooked Ruffles was added to the lineup under the brand's chip fusion project.
According to People, the new Kettle Cooked Ruffles offer different blending of classic flavors such as barbecue, sour cream and onion, ketchup, vinegar, and salt. The chips were first launched in the U.S. in 2015 but disappeared in 2021; thus, this is just a comeback of the crossover flavors, but this time in kettle chip form.
Lay's is also relaunching its Cheetos and Doritos Cool Ranch potato chips flavors. The All Dressed flavors will make their way to supermarkets and grocery stores in the U.S. this month. However, they will only be around until supplies last. The company said that the wavy Funyuns flavor will be here to stay as it has been chosen as a permanent addition.
"Lay's is the authority in flavor innovation, with groundbreaking flavors found in the Lay's Flavor Swap program among those leading the charge in bringing joy to our fans," Frito-Lay's North America's senior vice president, Tina Mahal, said in a press release. "With Lay's Kettle Cooked Ruffles All Dressed flavored potato chips, we found a new way to connect with consumers by listening to what they wanted to see from us – bringing back Ruffles All Dressed – while adding a fresh spin with Lay's Kettle Cooked."
