Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are now being nagged again about a possible “Twilight” return to the big screen and whether or not they’re interested in reprising their respective role. The sudden increase in interest about the franchise is due to the fact that the vampire saga is going to celebrate its 10th anniversary this coming November.
As such, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are once again swarmed with questions as they both try to promote their upcoming films. So how likely is it that a new “Twilight” movie is going to be made in the near future?
As of now, most of the generated noise is coming from the “Twilight” anniversary and speculations from both fans and publications making the chances slim to non-existent. As for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson themselves, both stars have expressed varying interests in a possible reboot of the franchise.
"Yes, absolutely. Honestly, start sending scripts my way. Let's start building this,” Kristen Stewart recently said with a sarcastic albeit lighthearted tone. Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson said he’s also ready to play Edward Cullen and was surprised that a decade has already passed since his involvement with the vampire saga.
Enthusiastic as Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson’s response may be, both celebrities are actually quite fed up with the franchise if their past interviews are anything to go by. This is doubly true for Pattinson as he has voiced his dislike for his character and the whole story of the saga multiple times. This very fact is one of the major reasons why another “Twilight” movie involving the pair will not likely happen.
And of course, there’s also the whole scandal involving Kristen Stewart and Rupert Sanders, which ended the relationship of the actress and Robert Pattison all those years ago. While the two have since moved on from that heartbreak and the rift between them seems to have healed, it’s safe to say that some awkwardness still hangs in the air.
And since the franchise involves a lot of raunchy scenes, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson might not be too keen to be that physically close even though they’re doing it professionally. Stewart herself said that she hated filming the sex scenes in the “Twilight” series and it’s likely that her sentiment about this fact remains the same.
