Katie Holmes was rumored to be getting married after she posted a photo on her Instagram earlier this month. The picture shows her wearing a white gown while sitting on a platform near a body of water that could be a lake.
This single photo sparked speculations that Katie Holmes will be walking down the aisle for the second time. But this is not just about simply getting married, but New Idea alleged that the actress is doing this so she can change Suri Cruise’s name.
The drastic plan to remove “Cruise” in her daughter’s name
Based on the report, for years, Katie Holmes has been searching for ways to change her daughter Suri’s last name but to no avail. Legally, the 14-year-old can only change her surname when she turns 21, and that is still some years away.
A source supposedly told New Idea that Suri Cruise agreed to do this, and she is even determined to endure the hectic process of this surname change.
“Katie’s dad is looking at what can be done, but it’ll be like a poking a bear,” the tipsters claimed. “It’s been since Suri was 12 that she's wanted this, mostly out as a gesture to her mom. They can’t ignore this forever.”
Now, since Katie Holmes can’t wait to have her daughter’s name changed, she finally found a way that will speed up the process. It was said that she decided to get married to give Suri a new last name. This rumor emerged after some people said that it seems Tom Cruise’s ex-wife is hinting she is getting married again when she posted a photo where she’s wearing a wedding gown.
Debunking the rumor
Gossip Cop is not convinced with the allegations that Katie Holmes is getting married because there is no solid proof to back this claim up. Secondly, the publication pointed out that the problematic picture of the actress is actually a promotional image for the clothing line that Suri’s mom is representing.
Over-all, Gossip Cop stated that this report is totally ridiculous because surely Katie Holmes will not go through marriage again if it is only to change her daughter’s name. Besides, she would have learned her lessons well by now after going through a divorce.
