KFC not only offers fried chicken meals but also wraps and sandwiches. However, some of the previously introduced food items are no longer available, and they were either released as seasonal menus or just as a one-time addition to the selections.
KFC has plant-based items, and one would think of the brand's veggie burger if they thought of the restaurant's vegan option. However, items like these are mostly released for a limited time, so customers who come to love them get disappointed when they are taken off the menu list.
Demand for Veggie Burger's Return
In fact, the Toronto Sun reported that a customer started a petition to bring back KFC's original veggie sandwich as he is missing this food he came to love. He is calling on the fried chicken chain to make the change and make the Original Veggie Burger a permanent fix in KFC stores in Canada.
Prabhpreet Gill, the fan who started the petition last week, is disappointed with KFC's current plant-based burger. He spotted many changes in the sandwich and was upset about them, so he wanted the original version back.
KFC Customers Support the Petition
It turned out that Gill was not the only one who wanted the original Veggie Burger to return. After posting the petition online, other KFC customers also signed up to show their support. Most of them said they are also fans of the vegan sandwich but can no longer enjoy it since it was discontinued in Canada.
"I am a long-time customer of KFC and I have always enjoyed their veggie burger," Gill wrote in the petition. "However, recent changes to the recipe have left me disappointed. The new version simply doesn't taste as good as the old one."
One of the supports also wrote in the comment section, "I miss it and we need more veggie options at fast food places," while another one said, "Since then, I haven't had a burger from KFC, but, if it will come back I'll love it."
Meanwhile, as of writing, the petition is close to reaching its goal of 500 signatures.
