Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth welcomed their first baby in February but it was just recently when the “Counting On” stars revealed what they went through when Gideon Martin was born. The new parents shared that it was intense and it was not an easy birth.
According to People, Joy-Anna and Austin originally planned to have the baby at home, with the assistance of a midwife. However, they had to transfer to a hospital because the midwife declared that it was a breech birth after almost 20 hours of labor. Joy-Anna was forced to undergo a C-Section to safely deliver her baby.
“When the midwife came and told us that the baby was breech and that we had to go to the hospital, I was kind of discouraged because she had labored for so long and we were really hoping that we could just have a home birth,” the magazine quoted Austin as saying. “But at the same time, I was ready to have this baby. Joy was tired and I’m just: ‘Let’s just do whatever it takes to get the baby here.’ ”
Apart from the labor pains, Joy-Anna had to get over her fear of giving birth via a cesarean.
"Before I went into labor, having a C-section was my greatest fear. That was one of the things that I was scared of," she said.
In any case, it seems that despite the difficulties, the young couple is ready to have another baby now. As per Hollywood Life, Joy-Anna and Austin are already planning to have their next child.
The source close to the couple allegedly said that although Joy-Anna was really exhausted after Gideon’s birth, she and Austin are looking forward to another baby. Whether it was planned or not, they would welcome him or her because they really want a big family.
