Jimmy Kimmel raring to host the Emmys for the third time this September

Jimmy Kimmel/Instagram

If we are to choose someone whom the coronavirus (CoVid-19) has not defeated, perhaps it would be host Jimmy Kimmel, who has just been announced to be hosting the 72nd Emmy Awards on September 20, 2020.

Perhaps ABC just wanted to take the easy route by choosing Kimmel as he is their in-house comedian, however, that doesn't seem to ring true. In-house because The Jimmy Kimmel Live! is being aired by ABC.

But aside from his being a good host and comedian, Kimmel probably got the gig because he has successfully pulled off his The Jimmy Kimmel Live! show from home with no supporting staff since March.

Perhaps ABC executives had loved not only how he was able to smoothly handle his show from home but also how he made it a family activity by involving his wife and children.

In fact, ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke mentioned what Kimmel had done with his show the past few months while a quarantine was set in place due to the Coronavirus (CoVid-19) pandemic when he commented on Kimmel being chosen to host the Emmys, according to Screenrant.

Burke said that Kimmel would tackle the job with heart and humor just as he did his show while working from home.

Kimmel had tweeted that he doesn't know where, or how it ill be done or why they are doing it, but he will be hosting it.

Aside from hosting it, Kimmel will also be the award show's executive producer.

Because the CoViD-19 pandemic is still not over as their has been no vaccine yet, the show will either be held virtually or have a limited live attendance in accordance to the social distancing protocols. Although, nothing specific has been announced yet except that Kimmel will be hosting it.
