Jennifer Aniston was said to be not in good terms with Courteney Cox due to an incident that happened last year. It was reported that the “Friends” actress felt really betrayed when her friend and co-star decided to visit Justin Theroux to celebrate his birthday.
Was Jen betrayed by Courteney?
In an article that appeared on Australia’s Woman’s Day, it was claimed that Jennifer Aniston got really upset after Cox went to Theroux’s home and celebrated his birthday there. The 51-year-old actress allegedly felt “total betrayal” because her close friend even bothered to greet and celebrate with her ex-husband when she is not with him anymore.
"Jen never liked it much but Courteney insisted on keeping in touch with Justin even after they split up," a source supposedly told the magazine. "She argued that they got like a house on fire while Jen was married to him and that their breakup should change that."
The tipster further alleged that Jennifer Aniston is suspicious about Cox’s continued visits to Justin Theroux when she should have cut ties with him already. For her, since she is not his wife anymore, her close friends have no reason to see him anymore too and this is why she is suspicious and feels like being deceived at the same time.
“There is no love lost between Jen and Justin and to find out Courteney's still falling all over him is like a punch to the stomach,” the source said. This statement seems to imply that Cox is interested in Justin Theroux and wanted to pursue him despite being in a relationship with Johnny McDaid. Cox is reportedly insisting now that there nothing romantic between her and McDaid.
The truth
Gossip Cop did not waste time to find the truth by directly contacting Jennifer Aniston’s rep. They were told that this report does not make sense which means it is completely false.
Jen and Courteney are still best of friends and in fact, they made it possible to have their “Friends” reunion show. The two spearheaded the meetings to grant the fans wish for their 90s popular sitcom to be rebooted. While they are not returning for a reboot, they will be presenting a special show that will also commemorate the 10th anniversary of “Friends.”
As for Justin Theroux and Jen’s relationship, they have already stated multiple times that they did not split up in bad terms. They are still friends and surely, Aniston doesn’t mind if her own circle of friends still hang out with her ex-husband which is not really the case.
