Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux did not mean for their divorce to be so controversial. Both Aniston and Theroux have been quiet about their separation ever since they released their only public statement about their divorce.
The former couple's announcement of their separation even made an effort to emphasize that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were going public to prevent rumors and speculation from embroiling their post-married lives. But this did not stop the deluge of rumors and claims about how Aniston and Theroux have been acting out after their break-up.
Such rumors include the linking of either Jennifer Aniston or Justin Theroux to other men and women as a way to stoke the fires of jealousy between the former couple. The gossip industry also loves rumors about a difficult divorce between Aniston and Theroux, with the former couple fighting over their assets aside from allegedly trying to one-up each other in their love lives.
In an interview with The New York Times, Justin Theroux opens up a small window for fans to gain an insight into what really happened between him and Jennifer Aniston. Theroux mentions that despite what the gossip industry has been publishing about their divorce, reality is a far cry from the stories. Theroux also adds that his marriage with Jennifer Aniston has taught him how different and more low-key “Hollywood divorces” are compared to divorces between people who are not as high-profile as celebrities.
Justin Theroux describes his and Jennifer Aniston's “Hollywood divorce” as particularly uneventful where the only heartbreaking thing about the separation is the fact that his and Aniston's friendship has been irrevocably changed. In Theroux's perspective, “normal” divorces involve more drama between the couples compared to what he and Aniston went through.
When asked about any future love life prospects after being married to Jennifer Aniston during the interview, Justin Theroux refuses to comment.
