It is safe to expect that Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will not be sharing the screen for another project for a very long time. However, each actor has upcoming films and TV series to offer to their fans.
Fans will be seeing Dornan in a completely different role compared to Christian Grey. This week, BBC Two will release the miniseries “Death and Nightingales” where Dornan plays the role of an Irish heartthrob in the 1800s named Liam Ward. The latest TV show starring Johnson’s ex co-star will premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 28.
Dornan is also a cast member of the live-action movie “Robinhood” that premiere on the big screen last week. He will also star in the Untitled Drake Doremus film and will be one of the new voice actors for “Trolls World Tour.” Both movies are coming out in 2020.
Like Dornan, Johnson also had quite a hectic previous months with the recent premiere of “Suspiria” and “Bad Times at the El Royale.” Also, like her co-star, she has a couple more upcoming movies slated to come out in 2019 namely “The Peanut Butter Falcon” and an Untitled Babak Anvari film.
Dornan’s and Johnson’s careers are booming especially this year since they both have multiple projects that premiered in 2018. But it is safe to say that they both gained major career boosts through the “50 Shades” movie series.
However, Dornan seemed to be hesitant in working on another high-profile film like the “50 Shades” trilogy. “To speak for myself, and I'll speak for Dakota as well, it's another job on another set. I probably won't ever take a job with this much attention and scrutiny and public opinion directed at it again. And that's fine,” the actor told Vulture.
Meanwhile, Dornan and Johnson are also doing well in their personal lives. The actor is currently expecting his third baby while the actress confirmed she is “very happy” with her boyfriend Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.
