“Jack Ryan” season 3 has been in the books for more than a year now after Amazon Prime Video renewed the series even before its 2019 installment premiered. Fans are still in the dark about the “Jack Ryan” season 3 premiere, but Michael Kelly might have already given the answer to the release date questions.

Jack Ryan’ season 3 release date

The political thriller premiered on Prime Video in 2018 and was immediately followed by the second season last year. This pattern made fans hope that “Jack Ryan” season 3 could premiere before the end of 2020. But at this rate the series is looking unlikely to return with new episodes within the year.

Kelly, who played Mike November in season, was interviewed by Gold Derby where the actor made reference to “next year” while discussing “Jack Ryan” season 3. “I know exactly what they’re going to do next year,” the “House of Cards” alum stated.

To be clear, Kelly did not explicitly said “Jack Ryan” season 3 is headed for a 2021 release date. However, the mention of “next year” could be taken as a very convincing clue.

On the other hand, it could also mean that the third season’s production will only begin next year. If this is the case, a 2021 premiere would also be unlikely for “Jack Ryan” season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 were in production for more than a year, so if filming of season 3 will only start in 2021, the best fans could hope for is a release date in the latter part of the year.

It is also plausible for the “Jack Ryan” season 3 filming to be planned for 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic has put a halt on movie and TV productions, especially for shows like “Jack Ryan” that has been set in filming locations around the world.

Jack Ryan’ season 3 cast

When talking about his attachment to the TV show, Kelly said, “At the time, it was a one-year deal.” The use of the phrase “at the time” is also curious because it implies that a new agreement has been made since. And if that means Mike November’s return, based on his chemistry with Jack (John Krasinski) in the field, this should be a welcome decision among fans.

It is also worth noting that the actor confirmed knowing what the premise of “Jack Ryan” season 3’s plot is going to be. It seems like the kind of information that should be exclusive to cast members and producers. Unfortunately, without Kelly’s confirmation, all these hints still count as just speculations.
