President Donald Trump’s senior adviser, Ivanka Trump, will be traveling to Dubai later this week to deliver the keynote address at an international summit to be held in the country. The White House also confirmed that she will be meeting Middle Eastern leaders during the same trip, Arabian Business reported.
Ivanka Trump will attend the Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2020 which will be held on February 16 to 17, 2020. She will be the keynote speaker and will talk about the opportunities for women in business during the forum.
Ivanka Trump has a lot to share about the subject since she is an entrepreneur herself. She also spearheaded a wide range of initiatives aimed at lending support to women-owned businesses especially in the emerging markets, such as the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative.
Former Prime Minister Theresa May will also be attending the forum. The British politician will draw from her rich experience in Britain’s Parliament to share her views on female leadership in government, according to the Emirates News Agency.
Theresa May held various positions in the UK parliament since 1997. She was the first female Chairman of the UK’s Conservative Party from 2002 to 2003, became the Home Secretary of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2016 and was the Prime Minister for three years from 2016 until 2019.
Theresa May is known for her advocacy for gender parity in UK politics. She co-founded Women2Win, an organization that trains and mentors female candidates for public office. She also served as Minister for Women and Equalities (2010-2012).
“It is an honor to host Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2020, which is an important milestone in the UAE’s ongoing journey to elevate the status of women across all sectors,” UAE Gender Balance Council President Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed said, The National reported. She is also the president of the Dubai Women Establishment.
“The UAE provides an inspirational model for the empowerment and socio-economic participation of women,” Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed added. “The country has created a highly supportive environment for women to enhance their contributions to society.”
“The UAE has been at the forefront of women’s empowerment in the region and made outstanding progress in reducing the gender gap, achievements that have helped significantly raise the country’s rankings in global gender balance indicators,” Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed said, highlighting the countries efforts in the area.
