WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 17, 2017 -- InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC), a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that it has signed an agreement to become a member of 4iP Council. 4iP Council is a Brussels-based association representing leading technology inventors in Europe who believe that intellectual property (IP) rights enable innovation and increase social and economic welfare.
4iP Council works with academia, policy-makers and regulators to facilitate a deeper understanding of the invention process and the role of IP in achieving innovation. The primary focus of the association is the enrichment of IP policy debate through the development of empirically sound data and analysis on intellectual property and innovation.
To date, 4iP Council has commissioned research work from eminent academic researchers on a wide range of topics covering the patent system and patent quality, IP enforcement, standardization, licensing and competition law, SMEs and the digital single market.
