Hankook Tire & Technology has expanded its strategic partnership to provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) tires to around 320 car models for 46 global carmakers, including Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi.
Thus, it is stepping up efforts to secure tire manufacturing source technology based on its innovative R&D strategy.
Based on its technological capability, Hankook, one of the largest tiremakers in the global market, built a portfolio covering all vehicle segments: from high-performance sports models to electric vehicle (EV) brands and pickup trucks.
The firm noted that its business portfolio was achieved through its R&D facility, Hankook Technodome.
Hankook Tire is supplying new tires for German carmaker Porsche's Cayenne and Macan SUVs and 718 Boxster high-performance roadster.
A variety of high-performance Audi models, such as RS Q8, RS7 Sportback, the RS4 Avant, the RS5 Coupe, the Q8, and the SQ8 TDI are using Hankook's tires.
Meanwhile, BMW's high-performance lineup of X3 M, X4 M, sedan 7 Series, and the M4 GT4 motorsport car use Hankook Tire's products as well.
The South Korean tiremaker also supplies Mercedes-Benz's SUVs, GLC and GLC Coupe, as well as Mini's JCW GP3.
EV maker Tesla, Italian brand Fiat, US brand GM, Chinese EV maker Nio, and Malaysia's Perodua are the tiremaker's non-German clients.
