Global Geo-political Series: Speculation rises over another DPRK hydrogen bomb test

North Korea might one again defy global pressure and move ahead with another hydrogen bomb test and this time in the Pacific Ocean, which suggests that the hydrogen bomb might be fitted onto a missile and will once again fly through the airspace of Japan, according to comments made by North Korea’s foreign minister. On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, where Trump was a speaker to the UN for the first time, North Korean foreign minister Ri Yong-Ho indicated such a possibility according to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency.

While world leaders including Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping urged Trump to focus more on diplomatic ways to solve the crisis, the American president warned during his speech at the UN that the United States might have to totally destroy North Korea if it attacks US territory or its allies.

However, DPRK’s Kim Jong-Un is in no mood to back down and instead he called Trump deranged and vowed to make the United States and his President to pay dearly for his remarks at the UN.

The market is showing some concerns as demand for safe-haven currency yen and the yellow metal increased heading to the weekend. Gold is up almost half a percent and trading at $1300 per troy ounce, while the yen is trading at 112 per dollar, up 0.4 percent for the day.
