Germany Finance ministry to allocate Fy-15 surplus to refugee crisis

Siemens announced an ambitious programme for integrating some of the refugees arriving in Germany. This includes expanding its internship programme, setting up special classes for giving career advice as well as asking for assurances from the government that those enrolled in these programmes will be allowed to stay in Germany.

"Germany Finance minister Schaeuble has suggested allocating this year' surplus (estimated at around EUR5bn) as well as any extra tax receipts above expectations to the refugee crisis. By doing so, the FM would ensure a balanced budget next year, in line with previous commitments ('Schwarze Null')", notes Barclays.

According to the federal job agency, the labour shortage, measured by the number of unfilled positions, as never been as high. The official number of vacancies will be published today.
