Kit Kat Cereal will soon be available in the United States as General Mills is finally bringing the new chocolatey breakfast cereal into the country. The food manufacturer is launching the product nationwide, and will hit the grocery shelves this month.
Kit Kat Cereal will be sold in the standard-size cereal box for $5.69. Customers can expect to see square cereal bits instead of the usual roundish shape. The square shape resembles Kit Kat chocolate’s classic chocolate-coated wafer bar.
Each cereal has a coat of creamy chocolate as well. Fans will surely enjoy the distinct crunch that the original chocolate bar offers in every bite of the Kit Kat Cereal. The packaging of the product is also similar to the candy’s red wrapper, complete with the Kit Kat logo.
The new cereal flavor is just one of the new breakfast cereals that General Mills is rolling out this springtime. Some of the other products that it is also set to launch are Cinnamon Toast Crunch Tres Leches and the Vanilla Spice flavor of Cheerios. These will be sold at Walmart and other retail outlets for $6.88 and $7.17 for the family-size box.
CNN Business reported that General Mills would also release the miniature of Lucky Charms and Cocoa Puffs, which will both retail at $5.69. This is an addition to the mini version of another popular breakfast cereal brand, Trix.
Meanwhile, Kit Kat Cereal was first launched in the United Kingdom in March. At that time, General Mills had already mentioned that the rollout in other countries would begin in April and May in the U.S.
The company said the new cereal was created in cooperation with the chocolate development team that made sure the cereal will retain the indispensable quality of the favorite Kit Kat chocolate bar. The product is not only chocolately-delicious but is a good source of calcium, five vitamins, and iron.
“We are delighted to announce the partnership between Nestlé Cereals and KitKat,” General Mills’ head of marketing at cereal partners UK & Ireland, Sarah Fordy, said in a press release for the UK launch in March. “This exciting new cereal delivers a delicious taste of KitKat and has been developed to cater to consumers who are looking for an occasional, indulgent breakfast option, that can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.”
