Mariah Carey was Ellen DeGeneres’ guest on her “The Ellen Show” a few years back. This episode recently emerged again and people are paying attention to it.
It was not that long when it went viral next and the reason for this is pretty obvious, the episode put on clear display one of Ellen DeGeneres’ attitudes. For most people who watched it, they said that the embattled host is really a bully while others also comment in a negative way.
Why the Mariah Carey’s clip went viral
Ellen DeGeneres has been accused of being a bully, racist and has a diva attitude. She was accused as one of the “meanest person alive” and the public thinks that the allegations against her are true especially after watching Mariah Carey’s video where she was interviewed by the embattled host.
The interview happened in 2008 and at that time, there were rumors that the “All I Want for Christmas is You” singer is pregnant. She has not addressed this issue yet but it seems that Ellen was determined to make her admit it.
As per UK’s Metro, “The Ellen Show” host was asking her guest of the rumors are true and Mariah Carey immediately told Ellen that she does not want to talk about any rumors about her.
The singer then wants to change the subject when the 62-year-old TV personality offered a glass of champagne.
Ellen DeGeneres also insists that they “toast for not being pregnant” but apparently Mariah Carey can’t drink it so she faked taking a sip. Seeing that, Ellen exclaimed, “You are pregnant!”
Mariah Carey looks back into her interview with Ellen
Two years later, the songstress admitted that she was indeed pregnant when she appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ show. She also shared that people did not see her pregnant after that because she miscarried soon after her interview. Mariah confessed that she was actually not at ease during her guesting at that time.
“I was extremely uncomfortable with that moment is all I can say,” she admitted to Vulture. “And I really have had a hard time grappling with the aftermath.”
Finally, Mariah Carey explained that she was not ready to open up about her pregnancy because she had a miscarriage. She ended her statement by saying, “I don’t want to throw anyone that’s already being thrown under any proverbial bus, but I didn’t enjoy that moment,”
