When it comes to stories about the comedian, actress, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, among the most recent to have come out are those about her supposed retirement. There have even been stories about how she would supposedly pass on the position to someone else. However, there is now official proof that all of these stories are nothing but a big, stinking pile of garbage.
The talk show of Ellen DeGeneres was recently renewed for another three years, CNN reports. The host announced the development via Twitter and noted how her audience would be stuck with her for quite some time. This is something that many of her viewers would certainly not mind, even after she has been on TV for the better part of two decades.
"Doing this show has been the ride of my life," the caption reads before the host said in the accompanying video, "Sometimes in a relationship, you need to take a break," she said. "But I don't. You're stuck with me. Because I just signed for three more years."
Fans of Ellen DeGeneres are undoubtedly looking at this development with happiness, given that she is the whole reason they watch, in the first place. Replacing her on her own talk show would be like replacing Oprah in “Oprah.” It simply would not make any sense.
In the event that Ellen DeGeneres does decide to finally retire, there is no doubt that it is going to be the end of her talk show itself. There will be no one to replace her since there would be no one to take her place in the same program. It would simply be better to come up with an entirely different talk show and host altogether.
So, for now, Ellen DeGeneres will remain with her loyal fans until 2020, where more stories will undoubtedly come out to declare her desire to retire, once again. Just as they are now, those will likely be fake, as well.
