Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi 2019: Talk Show Host Reportedly Leaving Show to Start Family With Wife

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have been legally married for several years now and it was reported that the two are considering having kids now. But based on the report, it was said that the 60-year-old host would have to make a sacrifice to achieve this goal - she needs to quit hosting “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

According to Life & Style, Ellen DeGeneres still has an outstanding contract for “The Ellen Show” after extending her contract until 2020. However, it was claimed that the host has decided to leave her show for good since it was what her wife Portia De Rossi wants.

It was alleged that Portia has long been begging Ellen to quit and finally, the host relented and promised her wife that she will leave once her contract ends. She supposedly made a promise to her wife that she will not extend it anymore even if Warner Bros. will offer huge payout for her to stay.

It was added that one reason why Ellen DeGeneres finally gave in because she would like to have kids with Portia De Rossi now. She realized she and her wife needed to step back a bit if they want to start a family now.

"Now they’re closer than ever and looking forward to the future with a new purpose. It’s pretty much saved their marriage,” the source allegedly said. “They will either adopt or get a surrogate and hoping for twins."

The dubious source further disclosed that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are already looking forward to their family and now preparing by designing nurseries for their babies. Incidentally, Gossip Cop believes this is not a true story at all.

It pointed out that although it is correct that Portia De Rossi once mentioned that she wants Ellen DeGeneres to leave her hosting job, she did not say that it was because they would be starting a family. Moreover, the former model did not ask her wife to quit hosting completely and she only suggested that there are many more other projects that she could do other than appear in “The Ellen Show.”

The claim is certainly false as Ellen DeGeneres already divulged on her show that she and Portia De Rossi are not having babies and they do not have any plans for it either. To put it simply, as GC stated, this is a fabricated narrative.
