There is not much news about “Dr. Stone” season 2 but fans have nothing to worry about because this anime was already confirmed some months ago. In fact, it was even revealed that it will be returning with a new arc called the “Stone Wars.”
Obviously, the upcoming “Dr. Stone” season 2 will be very different from the first installment. This is because, by this time, Senku and the Ishigami villagers have become more powerful as they are now equipped with tools that they would need in times of need and event of war.
What the trailer revealed
As the new arc suggests, it is confirmed that they will be involved in a fight soon. Moreover, in the “Dr. Stone” season 2’s promo trailer, it was already shown that “Stone Wars” will push Senku, Chrome and Gen to lead the villagers and fight Tsukasa and his group.
The preview that was released by TOHO Animations in December 2019 also highlighted the strong friendship of the three main characters. The clip showed a scene where the trio made a pact to stay together and fight in the war until the end.
While the war is Senku’s concerns when “Dr. Stone” season 2 returns, his main goal is still unchanged though and it is to find a way to unpetrified the humanity who were turned to stone after a mysterious event thousands of years ago. It is predicted that they will find more messages from Byakuya Ishigami, encrypted somewhere, so they can be guided on their next steps to solve the mystery and save the civilization.
Release date and other details
“Dr. Stone” season 2 will come back with its original cast intact. Of course, the production team behind the anime will also be the same which means Shinya Lino will still direct the anime while Yuichiro Kido writes the script.
Finally, the release date of “Dr. Stone” season 2 is still unknown but as per Game Revolution, it may possibly arrive in July. Fans can still view the show on Crunchyroll and Funimation and they will come with English subtitles too.
