Donald Trump is said to be making inquiries on how he could name an airport in his honor. The president has been asking his advisers about the process. It was suggested that he is hoping an airport would bear his name and wants to do this before he steps down in January.

A Trump airport in the U.S.?

As per The Daily Beast, as the day of his White House exit draws closer each day, Donald Trump started talks and inquiring about the process of naming airports after the former presidents of America. It was said that two individuals heard the POTUS talking about this with his advisers and aides.

One of the sources reportedly said that since the election this year, the president asked what kind of paperwork is needed for a former president to have an airport named after him. The outlet noted that Donald Trump’s interest in naming an airport seems to indicate that he is also thinking about the “ceremonial elements” that comes after being a POTUS.

Another source who is allegedly close to the president also told the publication that the current US leader mentioned several times in 2018 about his wish to have a national or international airport named after “Donald J. Trump.”

It was added that Trump also hoped there would be an effort to organize for his wish to become a reality. He wants the same efforts exerted in pushing for the Washington DC airport to be named after Ronald Reagan.

Which airport is it?

In any case, People reported that at this point, with the mention of Donald Trump wanting an airport to bear his name, it seems that Florida is a potential candidate for the project if it will be organized. Most of the former U.S. presidents prefer to name a museum or library in their hometown after them, the 45th president clearly revealed he wants an airport.

Then again, eight ex-presidents also preferred the airports like Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, and John F. Kennedy. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Judd Deere would not confirm if these talks about the airport have really taken place as sources supposedly revealed to The Daily Beast.
