The President of the United States took to his personal Twitter page to send everyone his official New Year’s message. As expected, he would not let this opportunity pass without mentioning his “haters” as well.

In his first official tweetstorm for 2019, the powerful political head wrote, “Happy New Year to everyone, including the haters and the fake news media! 2019 will be a fantastic year for those not suffering from Trump derangement syndrome.”

Trump then encourages his followers and non-believers to stay “calm” and just “enjoy the ride.” Trump also followed up with another tweet that simply greets everyone a Happy New Year before going back to his tirades aimed at the Democratic lawmakers.

Donald Trump did not forget to throw shade at another critic, retired US Army four-star general Stanley McChrystal, at the start of his 2019. McChrystal recently told, “This Week” that he thinks the President is “immoral” and has not been truthful. This solicited a response from Trump saying the Obama-era Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) commander has a “big, dumb mouth.”

Trump continued by mocking McChrystal saying his “last assignment [was] a total bust.” McChrystal led the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and served as the commander of U.S. Forces in Afghanistan.

The new year began with the continuing partial government shutdown after the Congress did not agree on Trump’s demand for the funding of his planned wall (or fence) along the U.S.-Mexico border. In his previous statements, the President implied he will not compromise his original demand regarding this matter.

The President is still adamant on building a wall for border security. But Donald Trump also recently tweeted, “Let’s make a deal” in a post challenging Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA 12th District) that she might not want “to start her tenure as Speaker” with this lingering issue.

The provisions of Trump’s deal might be further explained soon as the White House is reportedly preparing a meeting to be attended by congressional leaders from both the Democratic and Republican parties. Officials of the Department of Homeland Security are also expected to join them on Wednesday afternoon.
