It is then worth asking if there are enough reasons for her to directly speak to Tanabe in the hopes of preventing the story from getting published.

To recap before “Domestic Girlfriend” chapter 269 arrives, Hina decided to deal with the Okunugi problem on her own. She spoke to the reporter, but it did not do her much good aside from deducing that the source is her ex-stalker Tanabe. Also, Hina decided not to let Rui and Natsuo know about this dilemma as her way of protecting them.
The last panel of the latest chapter showed Hina firmly declaring that she will fight what’s about to happen concerning Okunugi’s report. Exactly how she is going to do it is uncertain, though. One possibility is for her to directly speak to Tanabe in “Domestic Girlfriend” chapter 269. Asserting that Tanabe was the source, even when Okunugi has established that he has damning evidence, could be a foreshadowing of Hina meeting the guy that once planned on hurting her.
However, if Hina does pay Tanabe a visit in “Domestic Girlfriend” chapter 269, it also does not seem like it is going to be fruitful. He has been one of the main villains in the entire series and spending time in prison does not seem to change him for the better. The fact that Tanabe contacted Okunugi to make her suffer is a hint that he is unlikely to help Hina now.
This then leaves fans with the question of how Hina is planning to deal with their biggest problem in “Domestic Girlfriend” chapter 269. At this point, it appears that nothing can stop Okunugi. He did not even promise to stay silent and only said he might “think” about canceling the report even if she paid him 10 million.

“Domestic Girlfriend” chapter 269 is expected to be one of the last chapters before the series wraps up for good. It only raises more questions on how the series writer and illustrator Kei Sasuga plans on giving the three main characters a satisfying ending with such a short time left.
