The wait for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of “Cyberpunk 2077” may soon be over. CD Projekt Red is slated to hold a livestream on Tuesday, and there are indications already that the event is likely where the developer would announce the highly anticipated next-gen version of the game.
CD Projekt Red announced its next “REDstreams,” a series of livestream where key updates for “Cyberpunk 2077” were previously unveiled, is happening on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET / 4 p.m. CET. The developer did not give any clue on what fans could expect from the event. However, it did not take long before fans came up with plausible suggestions on what could be announced this week.

It also helped that the Xbox software has included “Cyberpunk 2077” under the category of games “Optimised for Xbox Series X/S” as spotted in these screenshots. Along with CD Projekt’s earlier promise to release the game’s next-gen version in early 2022, fans are convinced that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S copy of the game is the likely highlight of Tuesday’s livestream.
The Verge’s Tom Warren noted, however, that “Cyberpunk 2077” is still playing in its original PS4 / Xbox One version. But considering how the official Twitter page responded to the screenshots from Xbox, the update’s release appears to be imminent. The game’s next-gen version will be available for free to console players who already purchased the game’s original copies on last-gen consoles.
Aside from the “Cyberpunk 2077” versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, fans have also been waiting for the release of patch 1.5 for all platforms. The patch and the free next-gen version were both originally planned to launch last year. But by late 2021, CD Projekt Red announced that these updates need more time to be completed, leading to their delay to an unannounced date in the first quarter of 2022.
While CD Projekt Red has made significant improvements through the three major patches released for “Cyberpunk 2077” throughout last year, fans say the game still has issues that need to be addressed. So expectations are high for the fixes and improvements included in patch 1.5. But fans will likely need to stay tuned on the livestream on Tuesday via Twitch to see what changes are coming to the game soon.
