CD Projekt Red graced the stage of Microsoft’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 on Sunday with the latest “Cyberpunk 2077” trailer and the first extensive preview of the chaos-stricken Night City.

Night City is a fictional location in California where the “narrative-driven, open world RPG” is going to take place. The trailer is also narrated by “Cyberpunk 2077’s” protagonist named V.

In the game’s plot, Night City has just been voted the worst place in all of America due to the rate of violence and immense poverty. But, ironically, V noted that “everybody still wants to live here.”

The trailer’s official YouTube description also referred to V as an emerging gunman who has just secured his first paid contract. But in a city that thrives on violence, V’s competition is tight and the players’ goal is to make V one of the top gunmen for hire in Night City.

Meanwhile, it also turned out that “Cyberpunk 2077’s” latest trailer is similar to Childish Gambino’s much-talked-about “This Is America” music video — it has a ton of Easter eggs that are impossible to while watching it for the first time.

Polygon reported several decoded messages and gameplay hints packed in the teaser.

For one, the trailer features some of the megacorporations controlling Night City and the rest of America. These have all been introduced in Mike Pondsmith's pen & paper RPG “Cyberpunk 2020,” which CD Projekt Red’s upcoming game is based on.

The paramilitary contracting company Arasaka, the outer space transportation service Orbital Air, and the paramedics franchising corporation Trauma Team International are all present in the trailer.

The Polygon report also noted that CD Projekt Red included an FAQ sheet in the last frames of the trailer.

The developers revealed in it that players will have the option to “create” their own characters and assured fans that the “Cyberpunk 2077” world will be “seriously big,” but no specific details have been mentioned yet.

However, on a positive note, CD Projekt Red promised it will announce more content-related updates first before it will “start talking about pre-orders or ask anything” from the gamers — an apparent dig at the practice of other video game companies.

There will be no microtransactions and digital rights management (DRM) system embedded in the PC version of the game, CD Projekt promised.

Unfortunately, regarding the biggest question that is “Cyberpunk 2077’s” official release date, CD Projekt Red left it hanging. “We’re definitely much closer to a release date than we were back then but it’s still not the time to confirm anything,” the developer explained.
