“Cyberpunk 2077” is the highly anticipated video game being developed by CD Projekt Red and it would seem that the developers are intent on delivering a truly dark title. A writer for the game recently revealed in an interview that heroic playthroughs are basically not available. Players will only be able to choose a less selfish path.
The writer is Stanis Swiecicki and he spoke with GamesMaster Magazine recently about what fans can expect from the game. Interested fans can get the magazine over at MyFavouriteMagazines for $12.49. However, the gist of what Swiecicki shared is that “Cyberpunk 2077” is going to be a far darker game than many players might be expecting.
A segment of what Swiecicki about “Cyberpunk 2077” is available to readers, courtesy of Comic Book. From what the writer said, it’s almost like they are making the “Black Mirror” of the video game industry.
“We’re putting all our narrative firepower into allowing gamers to experience their story, one in which their decisions will shape who their character really is,” Swiecicki. said “It goes without question, though, that the dystopian future we’re putting you in is a dark and violent place. Being in control of who you are and having it stay that way is what matters most. You’re never trying to save the world, it’s always about saving yourself.”
For those who might be paying attention, this revelation basically means that the developers took the character of Geralt in “The Witcher” series and cranked his brooding attitude up to 11. It’s where every choice is a bad one and the only freedom that players really have is in choosing the less evil of the available options. “Cyberpunk 2077” is essentially a dystopian game through and through.
“Cyberpunk 2077” still has no official release date. However, speculations place the likely launch period around late 2020.
